Awful records, replete with empty ideas, provide a continual occupational hazard. The worst offenders seem to cluster in the Ambient field. The only people with anything to say in this area are some tested quality types (David Toop, Paul Schütze, the Time Recording boys in Nottingham) and, over in New York, Terre Thaemlitz's guerilla gender grooves as shown in Couture Cosmetique.
